About Me

Heidi Brookshaw grew up around racehorses and probably knew how to ride before she could walk. The Brookshaw family name is a familiar name in the horse racing community, Heidi has followed in her Grandfather and Fathers footsteps and is now a successful point to point and hunter chase trainer.

From the age of 4 Heidi was competing in local showing classes, gymkhanas, and show jumping on the lead rein.

In her early years she was a member of the North Shropshire Pony Club, and competed in Pony Club triathlons. At the age of 10 Heidi was riding work on her fathers pointers and schooling them from the age of 11. Heidi's mum Zena tells us that Heidi would rather have been with the horses than attend school.

In 1995 Heidi left school and began working for her father as assistant trainer.

Heidi was riding in Point to Points from 1995 - 1998 until she broke her back in a fall. She rode four winners from only a handful of rides and was set to have a promising riding career.

In 2001/2002 Heidi spent a season in Ireland working for Paul Cashman in his successful Point to Point yard to further her knowledge before returning home and starting her own training career.
