Huw
Huw is one of our jockey's and joins us at Helshaw each week to ride out. Huw was one of the most improved novice riders in the 2018/19 season, and won the Grimthorpe Gold Cup amongst other races for us.
Colin
Colin rides out most days and is the owner of Ballyrath and Daranova.
Colin rode Ballyrath to finish fouth in the Newmarket Town Plate in August 2019, not bad at the age of 78!
Natalie
Natalie works with us every morning, she lives local to Helshaw, is a great rider and loves her horses!
She is hard working and an asset to us and is always smiling
Laura
Laura rides out for us a couple of times a week, she is a very accomplished rider and hopes to ride in a few point to points this season.
Laura is bright and cheery and a pleasure to have around.
Jenny
Jenny rides out everyday and has lots of experience with racehorses and on the eventing circuit. Jenny is a patient rider and she enjoys spending time doing flatwork with the horses that need a bit of extra help.
Fred
Fred is in his first year at Harper studying engineering. He rides out everyday, and fits it in around his lectures.
Fred has worked for Polly Gundry and Harry Meade, and he also helps Jenny with flatwork.
Frank
Frank is 13 years old and during the holidays he has been riding out with us twice a week.
His riding and confidence is improving with every ride. Frank rides in pony races and hopes to ride point to point in a few years time. Its great to have an up and coming rider at Helshaw.
Deborah
Deborah rides out with us three times a week, she has a share in Alan and gets to ride him whenever she visits.
Deborah is a very good rider and really enjoys riding out.
Steven
Steven is Heidi's Dad and has had a lifetime of horseracing experience. Steven continues to ride out for Heidi everyday and is often seen leading up at point to points. We wouldn't be without him or his lucky red jumper at Cheltenham after 3 wins.
Heidi
Heidi is the owner of Heidi Brookshaw Racing. Heidi is a hands on trainer and works closely with her team to bring out the best in the horses she cares for.
